IPTV Smarters Failed to Authorize: 6 Fixes That Work

"Failed to authorize" in IPTV Smarters Pro means the server refused the login you typed. Nine times out of ten the cause sits on your side of the screen: a typo in the username or password, a server URL written the wrong way, an expired plan or a login already open on too many devices. This guide walks through each cause in the order worth checking, with the exact fix, and ends with what to send support if none of them works.
The message can read "Failed to authorize", "Authorization failed for above host" or "Invalid username or password", depending on the app version and the device. They all come from the same moment: the app sent your three details to the server, and the server answered no. The app itself is rarely broken. It only reports what the server said.
We sell logins for the app, not the app. bestiptvsmarters.club is an independent provider with no link to the developer of IPTV Smarters Pro, so the fixes below are the ones our support uses every week on Fire TV, Android TV, smart TVs and phones.
What "failed to authorize" actually means
The error means the server checked your username and password and did not accept them, or could not be reached at the address you gave. It does not mean your device is banned or that the app needs to be reinstalled.
When you choose Login with Xtream Codes API, the app builds a request from three fields: the server URL, the username and the password. It sends that request to the server and waits for an account record back. If the record says the account is active, the channels, the movies and the TV guide start to load. If the server answers that the account does not exist, has expired or is already in use, or if no answer comes back at all, the app shows the authorization error.
That gives four families of causes, and every fix in this guide belongs to one of them:
- The details are wrong. A character is missing, added or swapped.
- The address is wrong. The server URL has a missing port, a stray slash or the wrong prefix.
- The account is not usable right now. It expired, it is not active yet, or too many screens are using it.
- The request never arrives. The network, a VPN, the device clock or an old app version gets in the way.
Fix 1: retype the username and password by hand
Retyping the three details by hand fixes most authorization errors. Copy and paste looks safer, but it is the most common way a hidden space ends up at the end of a password.
Open the user list in the app, delete the profile that fails, and add a new one. Type each field slowly, reading from the message your provider sent. Watch for these traps:
- Capital letters. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive. "Smith2026" and "smith2026" are two different accounts.
- Look-alike characters. The letter O and the digit 0, a lowercase l and a capital I, the digit 1 and a lowercase l. On a TV keyboard they can look the same, so zoom on the message on your phone if you need to.
- Spaces. No login we send contains a space. If the field shows one at the start or the end, delete it.
- Autocorrect. On a phone or tablet, the keyboard may capitalize the first letter or swap a word. Turn autocorrect off while you type, or check each field before you press Add User.
The profile name at the top of the form is only a label for you, so "Living room" or "Dad's TV" works fine. It is never sent to the server and cannot cause the error.
Fix 2: check how the server URL is written
The server URL must be typed exactly as sent, including http:// and the port number after the colon. A URL that is off by one character points to a server that does not know you, and the app reports that as failed authorization.
A typical server address looks like http://name.example:8080. The parts that go wrong:
- The prefix. Keep http:// or https:// as sent. Swapping one for the other often fails, because the server listens on one of them only.
- The port. The number after the colon is part of the address. Leave it out and the app knocks on the wrong door.
- Extra paths. Do not add /get.php, /player_api.php or a trailing slash unless they were in the message. The app adds what it needs by itself.
- A playlist link in the wrong place. If you received a long M3U link with username= and password= inside it, that link goes in the Load Your Playlist or File/URL option, not in the Xtream Codes form. Mixing the two forms is a frequent cause of the error.
If you are unsure which part is the server, the Xtream form only wants the scheme, the host and the port. Everything after the port belongs to playlist links.
Fix 3: make sure the plan is active and not expired
An expired or not yet activated account produces the same authorization error as a typo. Check the end date before you change anything else on the device.
Our plans are paid once for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months and nothing renews by itself, so a login that worked for a year stops on its end date. If the login is new, it may also not be active yet: the account starts when the order is confirmed and the details are sent, not when you first open the app.
When the app does sign in on another device, its account screen shows the expiry date. If no device signs in at all, look at the order confirmation for the length you bought and count from that day. A plan that ended can be ordered again from the plan grid on the home page; the new login replaces the old one, so delete the old profile from the app first.
Fix 4: count the screens using the login
A single-screen plan plays on one device at a time. If the same login is already open on another TV, phone or stick, the server can refuse the second connection, and some app versions show that refusal as failed authorization.
Think of every place the login has been typed: the living room stick, the bedroom TV, a phone used on a trip, a tablet a child borrowed. Close the app on the others, or sign out of the profile, then wait two or three minutes before trying again on the device you want. Servers usually keep a connection open for a short while after the app closes.
If several people in your home watch at the same time, a single-screen login will keep tripping over itself. The household plans cover 2 to 5 screens at once on one bill: Value Household, Choice Household and Flagship 4K Household, all for 12 months.
Fix 5: rule out the network, the VPN and the clock
If the details, the address and the account are all fine, the request may never reach the server. Restart the router and the device, turn off any VPN, and check the device date and time.
Restart in the right order
Unplug the router for thirty seconds, plug it back in, wait until the lights settle, then restart the TV or stick. On a Fire TV, hold Select and Play together for about five seconds to restart it. A fresh connection clears many one-off failures.
VPN and DNS settings
A VPN or a custom DNS changes the route the request takes, and some routes fail. Turn the VPN off, try again, and only then turn it back on if you use one. If you changed the DNS on the router or the device, set it back to automatic for the test.
Date, time and time zone
A device that shows the wrong date can fail secure connections and confuse the account check. Open the device settings and make sure the date, time and time zone are set automatically. On Fire TV this sits under Settings, Preferences, Time Zone.
Try another network
Turn on the hotspot on your phone and connect the TV or stick to it for a minute. If the login works there, the problem is on the home network or the internet provider, not the login. Tell support which network failed and which one worked.
Fix 6: update the app or clear its data
An old app version or a corrupted cache can keep failing even after the details are fixed. Updating the app, or clearing its data and adding the user again, solves it.
- Update. Check the store of your device for a newer version of the player. Old builds sometimes fail against newer servers.
- Clear the cache. On Fire TV and Android TV, open Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, pick the player and choose Clear cache. Try the login again.
- Clear the data. If clearing the cache is not enough, choose Clear data. This removes every saved profile, so have your three details at hand before you do it.
- Try a second player. If one player keeps failing, any app that supports Xtream Codes accepts the same three details. If the second player signs in, the first one is the problem.
Reinstalling the app is the last step in this list, not the first. It changes nothing if the cause is a typo or an expired plan.
When the cause is on the provider's side
Sometimes the login is right and the device is fine, and the server still says no. That happens when a provider moves to a new server address, resets passwords or has an outage.
The clues are easy to spot: the login worked yesterday on every device and fails today on all of them, including on another network, with details you did not touch. In that case, nothing you change at home will help, and the fix is a new server URL or a reset login from the provider.
A good provider tells you about a server change before it happens and sends the new address at once. On our side, support replies with the corrected details and, if the service cannot be made to work within 7 days of activation, the refund policy applies. What to send support so the fix is quick
Send the error text word for word, your device and app, and what you already tried. With those three things, support can usually tell the cause in one reply.
- Your order number. Ours start with BSC.
- The exact message. "Failed to authorize", "Authorization failed for above host" or something else. A photo of the screen is even better.
- The device and app. For example "Fire TV Stick 4K, IPTV Smarters Pro, latest update".
- What you tried. Retyped by hand, checked the end date, restarted the router, tried a phone hotspot.
- Whether other devices sign in. If one device works and another fails, the failing device is the place to look.
Never post your username and password in a public group or a comment to ask for help. Anyone who reads them can use your screen slot. Send them only through the contact page.
How to avoid the error next time
Keep the three details in one note, type them by hand once per device, and keep track of where the login is in use. That prevents most repeat errors.
Save the message with your username, password and server URL in a note on your phone, so you never have to search old emails. Write down on which devices you signed in. When the plan nears its end date, order the next one a few days early so the new login is ready. And if more than one person watches at once, choose a plan with enough screens from the start instead of sharing a single-screen login.
For a single TV, the Value plan starts at $11.99 for a month and $52.99 for a year; Choice adds the larger show library; Flagship 4K is for 4K TVs. The subscription cost guide compares the prices in detail.
Questions about the authorization error
What does failed to authorize mean in IPTV Smarters?
The server refused the login the app sent. The usual causes are a typo in the username or password, a server URL written without its port or prefix, an expired plan, or the login already open on another device.
Why does IPTV Smarters say authorization failed for above host?
The app could not get an answer from the server address in the form, or the server did not accept the account. Check the URL exactly as sent, with http:// and the port, then retype the username and password by hand.
Is the username and password case sensitive in IPTV Smarters?
Yes. A capital letter typed in lowercase is a different account. Watch for the letter O and the digit 0, and for a lowercase l and a capital I, which look alike on a TV keyboard.
Can a login work on one device and fail on another?
Yes. On a single-screen plan, a second device is refused while the first one is playing. Close the app on the other device, wait two or three minutes, and try again, or choose a household plan for 2 to 5 screens.
Should I reinstall IPTV Smarters to fix the error?
Only after the other checks. Reinstalling does not fix a typo, a wrong URL or an expired plan. Clearing the app cache or data and adding the user again does the same job faster.
What if none of the fixes work?
Send support the exact error text, your device and app, your order number and what you already tried, from the contact page. If the service cannot be made to work within 7 days of activation, the refund policy applies.
Need a login that signs in?
Each plan page lists its four prices and opens the order form with your choice ticked. Single-screen plans start at $11.99 for a month on Value.
